The Specifics

Morning and afternoon game drives in our private Botswana and Kruger concessions are led by a professional guide and tracker and deliver close encounters with Africa's great wild animals. This is the traditional three-hour excursion into the bush, offering the chance to see our planet's iconic species living in vast protected wilderness areas.

Botswana:

There are morning and afternoon game drives available to guests staying at Mankwe Bush Lodge in our 365 000-hectare private concession bordering the eastern boundary of Moremi Game Reserve.

An added benefit of being located in a private concession is that we can drive after dark and are not restricted to park rules, which specify being back at camp by sunset. As a result, we can offer our guests the added option of a night drive, which allows us a good opportunity to see nocturnal predators on the move. Lion, leopard, and hyena are all active at night, and the chances of seeing honey badger, porcupine, genet, civet, and bush baby increase after dark too.

Game drive itinerary:

05h00 – Wake-up call

05h30 – Coffee and biscuits served at the lodge

06h00 – Depart on game drive (includes a coffee break in the bush)

09h00 – Return to the lodge and refresh

09h30 – Breakfast is served in the dining area followed by time to relax

14h30 – Lunch is served

16h00 – Depart on game drive (includes a sundowner stop in the bush)

19h00 – Arrive back at the lodge in the dark and refresh before dinner or enjoy a drink around the fire

19h30 – Dinner is served

Greater Kruger Park:

In our private Greater Kruger concessions, guests at Bundox Safari Lodge and Bundox Explorer Camp have access to exclusive game drive experiences. Unlike the Kruger National Park, these private concessions are not open to the public, so our wildlife sightings are luxuriously private.

Game drives in the Greater Kruger allow sightings of the Big Five plus many other mammal species – large and small – and river reptiles like Nile crocodile. Morning and afternoon game drives can be booked separately at Bundox Safari Lodge , while game drives at Bundox Explorer Camp are included.
